In terms of elevator safety management, China not only needs to attach importance to the design and manufacturing of elevators, but also needs to arrange a "safety period" for the operation of elevators. If it exceeds this period, it must be updated or renovated, and even damaged elevators must be forcibly scrapped.
At the same time, the management unit should strengthen its attention and improve the elevator usage management system, enhance its sense of responsibility, and regularly apply for annual inspections to the quality and technical supervision department. Regularly assess elevator operators and maintenance workers to resolutely eliminate potential accidents in elevators. Elevator safety management is still the most important prerequisite for preventing elevator accidents, and the importance of elevator safety management is mainly explained from the following aspects:
1. Daily safety management of elevators and responsibilities of operators
Elevator operators should strictly follow professional behavior norms and obey the management of government departments during the operation process. Operators must be trained and qualified by the supervisory department before they can take up their posts, and they must be familiar with the performance, principle, structure, etc. of operating elevators. At the same time, one should have a strong level of professional skills and good professional ethics, master new technologies and regulations, and continuously improve their own technical level. Be able to handle various sudden situations such as parking, losing control, and squatting during elevator operation correctly. If there is a hidden danger of elevator accidents, it should be reported in a timely manner and not concealed. Do not use faulty elevators or problematic elevators that do not meet safety standards. Only by starting from the basics and starting from the details, can we effectively avoid elevator accident hazards.
2. Maintenance Safety Operating Procedures for Elevators
Elevator operators must wear corresponding labor protection equipment and set up conspicuous safety warning signs and protective signs at the entrance of the elevator when starting inspection. The operator responsible for elevator keys shall not transfer the keys to others. During elevator maintenance, the power supply must be cut off. Avoid causing unexpected events.

3. Elevator routine inspection system
The routine inspection of elevators mainly includes daily inspection, monthly inspection, and irregular inspection. The safety management personnel of the elevator are responsible for supervising the implementation and reporting the inspection results to relevant departments. Elevator daily inspection and maintenance personnel are responsible for specific daily and monthly inspections according to the prescribed content. The routine inspection of elevators should fill out the inspection form and be signed by the person in charge of the inspection. Any problems found during the inspection should be promptly reported to relevant personnel for timely handling. Strict routine inspections can promptly identify deficiencies and safety hazards in elevators.
4. Elevator maintenance system
The "major overhaul" of elevators refers to the repair business that requires dismantling or updating the main load-bearing structural components, as well as the overall repair of mechanisms or control systems. However, the performance parameters and technical indicators of special equipment should not be changed after the major overhaul. The "renovation" of elevators refers to the business of changing the force structure, mechanism or control system of equipment, resulting in changes in the performance parameters and technical indicators of special equipment. The maintenance and upkeep of elevators can mainly be divided into the following two types:
4.1 Daily maintenance and upkeep: usually carried out by personnel with corresponding qualifications, mainly to complete daily small inspections, and to maintain and upkeep minor problems that arise. At the same time, keep daily records and report the situation to superiors in a timely manner.
4.2 Professional maintenance: Usually, a maintenance contract is signed with a qualified professional maintenance unit for elevator maintenance. When major projects of elevators require maintenance and repair, they should be undertaken by qualified and recognized maintenance units, and can only be implemented after filing with the special equipment safety supervision agency of the quality and technology department in accordance with regulations.
5. Elevator annual inspection and data archiving
Carry out regular annual inspections of special equipment supervision departments in accordance with regulations when using elevators. It is irresponsible to curb the phenomenon of supervision and inspection agencies turning on the green light in order to pass the annual inspection smoothly. Elevators may operate with defects, leaving hidden dangers, and the government's control measures are not in place. The leaders of relevant departments should attach importance to the annual inspection of elevators. Furthermore, elevator related information should be properly archived and saved, including design and manufacturing factory data, major overhaul and renovation data, maintenance and upkeep records, etc. This is also a necessary condition for annual inspections.
6. Emergency rescue drill system for accidents
When an elevator accident occurs, it should be reported to the relevant department in a timely manner, and the department should propose effective rescue plans and solutions in a timely manner. Elevator safety management personnel should determine the members of the emergency rescue team for accidents and incidents, and report to the unit leadership for approval. The members must include the unit's administrative leadership, elevator safety management personnel, and elevator daily maintenance personnel. Elevators should undergo at least one accident emergency drill per year, and all members must participate to improve their emergency response capabilities.
7. Elevator machine room safety management system
Strictly abide by the access control system of the computer room and prohibit unrelated personnel from entering. Smoking and open flame operations are prohibited in both the elevator machine room and the duty room. Flammable and explosive materials are strictly prohibited from being stored in the computer room. Other items should be stored away from the power source. Regular cleaning work should be carried out in the computer room to promptly remove flammable materials. Regularly inspect the fire-fighting equipment in the computer room to ensure its availability and safety.
8. Elevator operator assessment and training system
Elevator operators must hold an operation certificate issued by relevant departments in order to engage in elevator work. For elevator management personnel, personnel training and education files should be established, and staff should be notified in a timely manner for assessment and certification renewal. At the same time, the unit should organize staff to learn relevant laws, regulations, and technical knowledge, and may conduct assessments through written exams if necessary. According to the assessment results, staff can be rewarded with promotions and salary increases.
